Buyé Beach

Just a short sail or drive from Puerto Real, this beautiful stretch of coastline in Cabo Rojo feels like the real Puerto Rico — peaceful, welcoming, and way less crowded than the big-name beaches on the east side.
Drop anchor in the protected waters just offshore and you’ll understand why we love bringing people here. The sea is usually flat calm with gentle turquoise shades that glow in the sunlight. A roped-off swimming area keeps things safe and relaxed, while the palm trees and almond trees along the shore give you plenty of natural shade for those long lazy afternoons.
What makes Buyé extra special for sailors:

We often combine a morning sail to Buyé with a stop at nearby Playa Sucia or the Cabo Rojo lighthouse for a full day of exploring. After anchoring, you can dinghy in for fresh local snacks from the vendors, stretch your legs under the palms, or just float in the warm shallows while the boat swings gently behind you.
Even though weekends can bring out local families for cookouts, it still never feels overwhelming. The vibe stays chill, the water stays inviting, and the sunsets here are the kind that make you want to stay anchored until the stars come out.

Safe Home Base "Sometimes the best overnight is right where you started. Our protected circular bay has fantastic holding and easy access to everything you need — fuel, ice, groceries. Great for sunset sails and first-night orientation so everyone feels safe and excited.
Combate Beach
Local Vibes & Long Sands "Near Boquerón, Combate gives you miles of soft sand and that laid-back local energy. Anchor for the day, swim, and wander into town for frituras and music. Combine it with Boquerón for a full relaxed day. Evening glass-off makes it a sweet overnight when the winds are light.
Gilligan’s Island (Cayos de Caña Gorda)
Pure Caribbean Bliss "Clear water so bright it looks photoshopped. These little mangrove islands are perfect for kayaking through tunnels, snorkeling reefs, and chilling on tiny beaches. Anchor inside the protected area and you’ll feel like you have the place to yourself once the day-trippers leave. One of the best overnight spots in southwest Puerto Rico — calm, shallow, and ridiculously beautiful.
Boquerón Bay
Your First Perfect Overnight Stop. Tucked just three nautical miles south of Puerto Real, Boquerón Bay feels like the Caribbean postcard you came for. Drop anchor in its wide, protected waters over soft mud and sand that holds like glue even when the trades pick up. The long white-sand beach stretches out for sunset walks, and the little town is an easy dinghy ride for fresh seafood and cold Medallas. Swim, snorkel the shallow edges, or just float in turquoise water while you laugh and take photos. Overnight here is calm and magical — perfect first night out for new sailors.
Playa Sucia & Bahia Salinas
The Iconic Crescent. Round Cabo Rojo and suddenly you’re staring at one of the most photographed beaches in Puerto Rico. Playa Sucia’s dramatic cliffs and pink salt flats make every guest gasp. Anchor on the west side in settled weather. Dinghy straight to shore for that famous lighthouse hike and exploring the salt flats that look like they’re glowing. Crystal-clear water for swimming and the kind of solitude that makes people book again.
La Playuela
The Secret Neighbor. Right next to Playa Sucia but often quieter, La Playuela offers the same stunning views with fewer boats. Shallow turquoise water is perfect for swimming and paddle-boarding right off the stern. Anchor close in when conditions are calm and enjoy total peace at golden hour. Great spot to combine with the lighthouse trail — this is a hidden gem.
La Parguera
Bioluminescent Magic "Fifteen to twenty miles east and you enter a whole different world of mangrove channels and colorful stilt houses. La Parguera is famous for its glowing bay — kayak at night and watch every paddle stroke light up like stars. Multiple cays for daytime snorkeling and exploring. Protected overnight spots in the inner channels make this a favorite multi-day stop. Dinner at the waterfront spots is the cherry on top.
